TZR 125 solo HatYai trip
I brought a FF plate 2RK TZR 125cc with faring mount on 1st April the ex-owner had done a good job maintenance the bike. I miss this bike it's the very first bike I own 16 years ago and back then I had a dream to ride it to Thailand but due to unforeseen circumstances I only manage to do it now. As I previously had 3 time experience travel to Betong on 4 stroke bike solo hope this time it will benefit a smooth ride this is my first time riding a 2 stroke bike to HatYai.
"Currently there is less than 10 TZR 125 in Singapore most were crashed, raced or run to death by youthful owners in the past."

Challenge I face expect the unexpected.
The TZR is 25 year old.
2 stroke engine fuel and 2T consumption.
Constant riding on 2 stroke engine over heating issue.
Riding and sitting position rather discomfort.
Noise TZR is a loud bike. haha
Before the ride I change back to Yamaha TZR suspension! Cost me a boom!
This cooler solve my TZR heating issue the heat meter never go 50%!

Your 2b 2 stroker touring is like the best expression of motorcycle touring. Its adventurous and its all down to a man and his machine.

"Hi osxunix, I saw you on the trunk road before Gerik town. Was surprised to see a Sgp plate Handa Phantom riding alone. Gave you a friendly wave as i rode past you. I was riding in a group which consist of a Honda Goldwing, KTM adventure, Harley rocker and me a Suzuki m109r. Don't know whether you noticed us? We left on Sunday morning from Betong too but we went up to Hatyai."

Day 2-2
Trail some hill road of Betong it was cooling and has a remarkable nice scenery. The hill have many road curve sport bike riding can try their corner skill here. Late afternoon visit the world tallest mail box if you compare the height with my bike super tall right? The Betong town clock tower is just beside my Hotel it actually give me direction around the town but during evening time sparrows lining up on the wire cables at night beware of raining bird shit. Went to Jumjuree Beer Park for dinner location top of the hill nice food but slow serving of food...
Bieber is not gay he just girly!
Day 2
After 12hr of riding wake up at 3pm having breakfast opposite of Modren Thai hotel Roast Pork rice with wanton soup at 70baht. After breakfast change engine oil at local bike shop the best EO they can offer is Castrol 20W50 @ 120baht/SGD$5 (Found out SG actually selling SGD$10). Nice cooling weather today and riding without a helmet is bless and dangerous.
Went to Betong Hot Spring boil some eggs :)

Day 1-2
Weird thing in Betong.
In Betong speaking Thai is not a must most people speak Mandarin or Malay due to many Malaysian visitor.
When ever you buy something or pay for food you will be quote in Malaysian ringgit not Thai baht.
If you like to pay Thai baht in Betong $1 ringgit is $10 baht.
So if you are quote $2 ringgit pay baht is $20 baht.
Sing Dollar to Malaysia Ringgit= $1 to $2.48 ringgit
Sing Dollar to Thai Baht= $1 to $24.90 baht
$2 ringgit/2.48= SGD 0.806
$20 baht/24.9= SGD 0.803
Thai baht is more worth it by 0.03 haha.
No roaming network in Betong!
You can search network but you just can't connect to any!
Only Betong Thai SIM card able to connect to network.
SIM card from other part of Thai also unable to connect to Betong network but Betong SIM card able to connect to whole Thai network.
So if your SIM card is not from Betong there is no way to connect to their network.

I do many research before going to Thai and like to Thanks all member from http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums sharing their experience!
From Johor ride NSE E1 6hour to KL continue to E2 Ipoh ride to Gerik ride to the end of Gerik continue to Pengkalan hulu perak and when reaching the end of Pengkalan hulu will see Petronas refill fuel and turn right to Betong 7km to reach Malaysia/Thai custom total another 6hour.
Checking the Malaysia weather forecast from JB toward KL had no rain but reaching Perak have isolated rain over coastal area. Hopefully everything will be alright :(
